The papers, consisting chiefly of correspondence, speeches and writings, scrapbooks, legal documents, reports, clippings, subject series, and ephemera, document the Seattle pastor's activities as a civic leader, soldier, and military chaplain. Attebery's letters to his family during both world wars, particularly WW II, are included. A scrapbook documents his career from the early 1930s, and minutes and correspondence highlight his stance on Prohibition and his activities relating to the Friends of City Light (Seattle's electric utility) and the Methodist Episcopal Church (Puget Sound Conference) Committee on the Centralia Armistice Day Tragedy.
